Pictured here is my shoe and my breakfast. Allow me to explain.
They are made by Vivobarefoot, which has become my number one choice in footwear over the past several years. The reason is simple: they allow my feet to work as they evolved to, as nature intended. Most modern shoes block all sensory input to the feet, prevent natural movement of the feet, and thus destroy the feet over time. As the company says, “Your feet have all the technology they need. Our shoes let your feet do their thing.”
The bacon and eggs.
The bacon is from pastured pigs treated humanely. The eggs are from pastured hens, scrambled in organic virgin coconut oil, seasoned with Himalayan sea salt, black pepper, and turmeric. I washed them both down with Holy Basil tea mixed with raw honey.
Why am I posting about my shoes and breakfast? The point I’m trying to make is simply that everything matters. It’s not just about fitting in time to workout and eat more vegetables in your hectic life. It’s about striving to become more conscious about everything you do, because everything is interconnected and has an impact on your quality of life.
There’s no sense in rushing to the gym stressed just to get in a workout. Perhaps a mindful walk outside, barefoot in the grass to allow your toes to stretch and feet to feel the earth would benefit you more in your current state. Instead of gulping down a post-exercise protein shake made of powder, try preparing a meal made of all fresh, organic, wholesome ingredients and notice whether it affects things such as your digestion, energy, and mental outlook more positively.

Similarly, we strive to approach every aspect of life and movement with the same level of consciousness. Whether something is beautiful or ugly, good for you or bad for you, is simply a matter of whether it is done consciously or compulsively.
